Kitchen | renovation
The original design was open, but the galley-style kitchen was small. The space was transformed into a public kitchen as well as a working one. The public space is now open with a large island and white marble countertops. A working kitchen behind the public one was created for storage, appliances, and, well, working. The wood-paneled ceilings are original to the house, but were stripped and washed with a custom mix. The linoleum floors were torn up and replaced with hardwoods that matched the existing home and made the kitchen feel connected to the rest of the house. A space that was formerly too hidden behind cabinets and dark wood is now open and a natural gathering place for friends and family.
