MID CENTURY Modern
The small kitchen in this mid century modern home, was transformed into an open public space with a large island and white marble countertops. The original wood-paneled ceilings were stripped and washed with a custom mix. By replacing the linoleum floors with hardwoods that matched the existing in the house, the kitchen now blends with the rest of the house while still embracing the original architecture. "When we bought this, the kitchen was just a really small space, and it was hard to bring our family into it," the owner says. "Now it's a space we can all hang out in. Everybody wants to be in the kitchen."
